The Kerala State Co-operative Marketing Federation Ltd. (MARKETFED) is the apex marketing organisation in the co-operative sector of Kerala, playing a pivotal role in agricultural marketing, procurement, distribution, and value creation for farmers and consumers alike.
- Establishment: MARKETFED began on December 24, 1942, as a Malabar-based wholesale co-operative store.
- Evolution: Attaining state-level apex status in 1960, it expanded operations to serve the entire state of Kerala.
- Mission: With an 80-year legacy, the federation strengthens the agricultural economy while ensuring fair prices for farmers.
- Membership: The federation has 93 members, comprising the Kerala Government and various primary agricultural marketing societies.
- Strategic Role: As an apex body, MARKETFED connects producers with national markets to supply quality agricultural inputs.
