| DISTRIBUTION
OF FERTILIZER AND PLANT CHEMICALS Marketfed commenced its fertilizer distribution in 1972 with imported fertilizers as it's backward integration strategy. Marketfed is distributing the products of M/s. Madras Fertilizers Limited/Indian Potash Limited/Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation/Indian Farmers Fertilizers Co-operatives Limited/Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited/Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited/ Etc. Marketfed is having one mixing unit for production of various grades of mixtures and infrastructure for the distribution of fertilizers with district level offices and 2 Regional Offices in the State. The Marketfed is the largest distributor of fertilizer in the cooperative sector of the State through its 1250 cooperative outlets. |
Marketfed is also undertaking the distribution of P.P.Chemicals from the year 1981 onwards and doing better service to the farming community through the Co-operative network. Marketfed is acting as an agent of the Government for the implementation of various Govt schemes through Agricultural Department. The major schemes implemented by Marketfed are supply of fertilizer kits under Central Govt Sponsored Scheme for the Integrated Coconut Development Programme of the State, supply of fertilizer kits for the development of cashew growers, etc. In addition to this, the scheme for the supply of PP chemicals for the control of quickwilt disease in Pepper and Mahali disease in arecanut are also undertaken. Marketfed has been playing a prominent role in the cooperative sector by undertaking the distribution of agricultural inputs and other service activities for the betterment of the farming community in the State.
